John “Little John” Dizek, 68, died Tuesday evening at his daughter’s Jefferson Twp. home after a long and courageous battle with illness. His wife of 34 years of marriage, Lucy Weber Dizek, survives.
Born Sept. 25, 1948, and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late Anthony and Nancy Leanza Dizek. An extraordinary talent from his youth and an accomplished musician, John was a founding member, songwriter and lead vocalist of the Hassles in 1964. They were signed by United Artist Records shortly after. Making a Billboard chart appearance in 1967 with their single “You’ve Got Me Hummin’.”
