‘The Last Play At Shea’ To Premiere On Showtime November 11th!

THE LAST PLAY AT SHEA RECEIVES ITS TELEVISION PREMIERE ON SHOWTIME, NOVEMBER 11TH AT 9:30 PM ET/PT

November 2011 will be a month of milestones & landmarks in Billy Joel’s 40 year career. THE LAST PLAY AT SHEA finds its television premiere on SHOWTIME, the leader in premium cable television. November 2011 also celebrates Billy’s 40-year career as a solo artist with the release of BILLY JOEL – THE COMPLETE ALBUMS COLLECTION, a 15-CD box set featuring brand new re-masters of every Billy Joel album & PIANO MAN 2-CD LEGACY EDITION the album that made Billy Joel… The Piano Man. The 2 CD collection features a previously unreleased concert for WMMR in 1972. Both releases are scheduled for TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8.

The end of an era, made into a film, is now set for its SHOWTIME Television Premiere. The intersecting histories of a landmark stadium, the unpredictable New York Mets and music legend Billy Joel are woven together in the documentary THE LAST PLAY AT SHEA, set to premiere on SHOWTIME on Friday, November 11th at 9:30 PM ET/PT.

Through the prism of Billy Joel’s extraordinary career and blue collar perspective, THE LAST PLAY AT SHEA chronicles the waning days of Shea Stadium through a tapestry of performance, historical documentary and personal journey while at the same time providing audiences with a pop-culture snapshot of a seminal era in New York history. Set against the backdrop of New York City from the early 60s to present day, the film features interviews with players, performers and exclusive concert footage-featuring special guests like Tony Bennett, Roger Daltrey, Steven Tyler, Garth Brooks and John Mayer, among others.
