Joel and Fenway to Celebrate the Occasion with a Partnership that includes a Donation to Long Island Commercial Fishing Association and Gloucester Fishermen’s Wives Association

BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox and Live Nation New England today announced that Billy Joel will continue the first ever stadium residency at Fenway Park with a record breaking 7th performance at the historic ballpark. His return to Fenway Park on Friday, August 28, 2020 comes after 6 years of consecutive sellouts, one World Series ring and the first ever induction into the Fenway Park Music Hall of Fame display in 2019.
In honor and appreciation of Billy Joel’s unprecedented seventh show in Fenway Park’s first ever stadium residency, Billy Joel and Fenway Park have teamed up to donate four tickets in the exclusive Dell/EMC Club for every Red Sox home game during the 2020 regular season to aid in fundraising efforts for the Long Island Commercial Fishing Association and the Gloucester Fishermen’s Wives Association. Although a native New Yorker, Billy Joel continues to weave himself into the fabric of the New England and Red Sox Nation communities with this partnership and donation valued at $127,332.
“Since 2014, Billy Joel has been a fixture in the summer concert series at Fenway Park,” said Red Sox President and CEO Sam Kennedy. “We are honored that this New York native and music legend has adopted our ballpark as his place of residency in New England. Billy has become a close friend to many of us and we even gave him a 2018 World Series ring to show him just how much we consider him part of the family. We look forward to another successful show in 2020.”
American Express cardmembers will have first access to presale tickets for the August 28 show from Monday, November 11 at 10:00AM (EST) through Thursday, November 14 at 10:00PM (EST).
Tickets for the August show will be available for purchase by the general public beginning at 10:00AM (EST) on Friday, November 15 via RedSox.com/BillyJoel.
In December 2013, Billy Joel became Madison Square Garden’s first-ever music franchise, joining the ranks of the storied venue’s other original franchises – the New York Knicks, Rangers and Liberty. Since January 2014, Joel has played one show per month at The Garden. This unprecedented and wildly successful residency will mark a 60th consecutive sellout with its January 24, 2019, show and hit its record-setting 100th career MSG show last July.
