Billy Joel will sing the national anthem before Game 3 of the World Series at Citi Field on Friday night.

Joel has a long history with the Mets, including headlining the two final concerts at Shea Stadium in 2008. This season, the Mets have used his song, “Piano Man,” as a sing-along during the middle of the 8th inning break.

… Joel sang “Meet the Mets” and gave score updates from Game 4 of the NLCS during a concert at Madison Square Garden last week.
