Legendary Musician returns to Kansas City for First Time in Five Years
Dec. 12, 2014 (Kansas City, Mo.)— Mayor Sly James announced today that after five years music icon, Billy Joel will return to Kansas City for one night only on Friday, May 1, 2015. The concert will mark Billy Joel’s first solo headlining appearance since December 2007 during Sprint Center’s opening season. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, Dec. 19 at 10 a.m.

The singer/songwriter/composer is the sixth best-selling recording artist of all time, the third best-selling solo artist and is one of the highest grossing touring artists in the world. Joel has received six GRAMMY® Awards, including the prestigious Grammy Legend Award. Most recently, he received the Kennedy Center Honor, The Library Of Congress Gershwin Prize For Popular Song and the ASCAP Centennial Award. He has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has received numerous industry awards.
