First Billy Joel solo arena concert in New Orleans since 2007!
NEW ORLEANS, LA [November 10, 2016] – Live Nation and Smoothie King Center announced today that legendary musician Billy Joel will return to New Orleans on February 10, 2017! The just announced concert will mark the first Billy Joel solo arena concert in New Orleans since 2007.

Billy’s music legacy speaks for itself, and we are grateful he has chosen New Orleans as one of the select cities he will be performing in next year” said Alan Freeman, SMG General Manager of the Smoothie King Center. “The Billy Joel concert will join an amazing February schedule at the Smoothie King Center, which also includes performances of Cirque du Soleil’s production of “Toruk” and several New Orleans Pelicans games, all leading up to the 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend.”
During his five-decade career, Joel is one of rock ’n rolls best, performing his unrivaled catalog of songs that have made up the soundtrack of many lives. Joel ranks as one of the most popular recording artists and admired entertainers in history, with 150 million records sold over the past quarter century. The singer/songwriter/composer is the third best-selling solo artist and one of the highest grossing touring artists in the world.
In 2014, Joel received The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, which honors living musicans & artists for lifetime achievement in promoting the genre of song as a vehicle of cultural understanding; entertaining and informing audiences; and inspiring new generations. He also received the once-in-a-century ASCAP Centennial Award, which is presented to American music icons in recognition of their incomparable accomplishments in their respective music genres and beyond.
