We reported on April 30th that Fyfe Dangerfield’s cover of Billy Joel’s” She’s Always A Woman To Me” was causing a sensation in the UK, as the sound track to the most recent John Lewis television commercial.  This incredible reaction forced the release of the song as a single in the UK and it’s been climbing the UK charts ever since, arriving this week at #1 on the BBC 1 National Radio Chart.   Its peak position on the UK Top 100 single sales chart was #7 last week, but with airplay this strong Fyfe’s further accent is highly possible.   We have our fingers crossed.    

Birmingham native Fyfe Dangerfield is a founding member and front man of the UK band Guillemots.  He released his first solo album, Fly Yellow Moon through Downtown Records on May 18th.  The album was recorded at Urchin Studios in the UK, at the same Studio where Fyfe recorded his version of “She’s Always A Woman to Me” 

Downtown Records has scheduled the rush release of Fyfe’s hit version of ‘She’s Always A Woman To Me” with I-Tunes made available for download on June 8th.  Fyfe’s artist video for “She’s Always A Woman To Me” can be streamed here.
